Christie's Story
In April 2024, Steps 4 Love, had the incredible opportunity to assist Christie, an amputee living in a rural part of Georgia. The journey to getting her a microprocessor prosthetic knee was not without its challenges, particularly when it came to transportation.
Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Whitney Clark, our Secretary, and the Sylvan Oaks Foundation, Inc., we were able to arrange private flights for Christie from Georgia to Florida and back. This crucial support allowed her to meet with Rick Coleman, CPO, and Scott Love, VP of Steps 4 Love, for the fitting of her new prosthetic knee.
But the generosity didn’t stop there. The foundation also provided Christie with complimentary accommodations and meals during her stay, ensuring she received the necessary adjustments and fittings for her new leg.
With her newfound mobility, Christie has set her sights on returning to school and rejoining the workforce. We can’t wait to see all the amazing things she will accomplish in the future!❤️🦿
