Madison Self, OTR/L, OTD
Board Member
Madison Self earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from UNC Charlotte, graduating with High Honors and receiving a Certificate of Academic Excellence. During her studies, she completed a 340-hour internship at Hanger Clinic, collaborating with Certified Prosthetists and Orthotists to deepen her understanding of prosthetic and orthotic design and adjustments.
Madison then obtained her Doctorate of Occupational Therapy with High Honors from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. There, she focused her research on the psychosocial impacts of financial disparity within the limb loss community, aiming to advocate for better access to healthcare and durable medical equipment. She worked closely with Dr. Scott Love and the USAHS Amputee Research Team on various projects and has since become a member of the Steps 4 Love team.
Currently, Madison travels the East Coast as a Travel Occupational Therapist, with plans to expand her adventures to the West Coast. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with loved ones and her dogs, exploring state and national parks, and completing various DIY projects.
